Site Update: Foundation Completion and Superstructure Imminent in Middlezoy

August 24, 2026

Following our initial update last month regarding the commencement of the new annexe build in Middlezoy, Somerset, we are pleased to share that significant progress has been made on site.

The meticulous early stages of groundworks have advanced steadily over the past four weeks. We can now report that the foundations are complete. This critical milestone provides the robust base required for the scheme, ensuring the long-term structural integrity of the build while continuing our considered response to the site’s natural topography.

Simultaneously, the construction of the retaining walls is well underway. This highly technical phase is essential for safely managing the earthworks and sculpting the site to fit the final design. The careful integration of these ground-level elements remains a priority, ensuring a seamless and sympathetic relationship between the new structure and its rural setting.

Looking ahead to the coming week, the project will reach a pivotal transition point with the installation of the structural steels. This phase marks the official emergence of the superstructure. As the steel frame is erected, the scale, form, and proportion of the annexe will become fully visible in the landscape, translating the architectural design from concept into physical form.

Our commitment to craftsmanship and high-quality detailing remains at the forefront of the project as the building begins to rise out of the ground. The build remains firmly on schedule for completion in early 2027, and we look forward to sharing further updates as the spaces begin to take shape.
